Boost Small Disadvantaged Business Participation in Federal Contracts through 8(a) MAS Pool Initiative

By providing new opportunities for more minority-owned small businesses to compete in the federal marketplace, the new 8(a) MAS Pool in the GSA Multiple Award Schedule will further the efforts of the current Administration to increase access to federal contracting for socially and economically disadvantaged businesses.

Later this year, after the MAS Solicitation has been updated and the MAS 8(a) businesses have been added to the pool, government agencies will be able to place 8(a) directed awards. This project will simplify the acquisition process and provide ordering flexibility under the GSA Schedule program, further encouraging agencies to work with 8(a) firms. As a result, agencies will be able to achieve their goals for small and micro business contracting by having increased access to a wide number of 8(a) contractors.

The Top 10 NAICS from Federal Sales for the Fiscal Year 2022 is shown in the table below, along with the potential additional sales from GSA Schedule with an 8(a) Certification.

If building and expanding your business through federal contracting is part of your plan< I always recommend giving a call to an industry expert such as ez8a or Advance 8a so they can evaluate your eligibility and help you take advantage of these opportunities. Neither charge for an initial consultation.
